Accountable Care in Qatar

A WISH-led diabetes-focused pilot project at the Al Wakra Health Centre in Qatar has started screening more than 3,000 patients for the disease since February. The SMART Clinic, also known as the WISH Clinic, aims to give patients individualized healthcare plans depending on their classification as pre-diabetic or diabetic. The project is the first of its kind in the world, and is set to help Qatar alleviate the diabetes epidemic, which afflicts almost a quarter of a million individuals in the nation.
