People queue at a temporary covid-19 testing site in Bangkok last Monday, two days after the government announced two weeks of new restrictions to counter the country’s biggest outbreak of the disease.
A record high of 1767 new cases were reported on Sunday as schools, bars, and massage parlours closed and restaurants were banned from serving alcohol.
The country has recorded 104 coronavirus deaths and 43 742 cases since the start of the pandemic last January.
