WISH’s global community of healthcare leaders will convene for a fourth time in Doha on November 13th and 14th, 2018.
The WISH community is dedicated to capturing and disseminating evidence-based ideas and practices. Our vision is of a healthier world brought about through collaboration. We forge connections and help build action-driven communities of knowledge who work together to address today’s most pressing global healthcare challenges.
Over the coming months we’ll be sharing details of the research topics that will form the core of discussions at WISH 2018. We’ll also share details of the summit's keynote speakers plus a range of activities that will take place in The WISH Hub – WISH’s interactive exhibition space.
To date, WISH has announced the first keynote speaker and six of the nine areas of research focus for WISH 2018 including eye health, viral hepatitis, design in health, Islamic ethics and palliative care, nursing, and anxiety and depression. The first keynote speaker to be announced is Mary Robinson, the first female president of Ireland, serving between 1990 and 1997, and is currently a member of the 'Elders', a group of independent global leaders. The WISH 2018 eye health forum will be led by Professor Sir Peng Khaw, a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK, and the viral hepatitis forum will be led by Dr. Margaret Hellard, who is deputy director of Burnet Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
